Privacy policy

Last updated 28 October 2026

This page explains what CVFit collects, why, and how long we keep it. We wrote it in plain words. If something is unclear, email privacy@cvfit.example.

What we collect

  • The CV and job post you paste, to make your result. If you upload a PDF or Word file, it is read in your browser and only the text is sent; the file itself never leaves your device.
  • Your email address, if you create an account.
  • Payment status from our payment provider. We never see or store your card number.
  • Basic usage counts, such as how many tailorings you used today, to apply plan limits.

What we store and for how long

  • Each result (the tailored CV, cover letter and scores) is saved in your history so you can open it again. It stays until you delete it.
  • We also keep each result for up to 7 days so that the same CV and job post do not need to be processed twice.
  • Your original CV is not stored, unless you are on Pro and choose to save it. Then we keep that one CV until you delete it.
  • Job search results are kept for a few hours to save requests to the job boards. They do not include your CV.

How the AI uses your text

Your CV and the job post are sent to an AI provider to write the result: Google Gemini first, and Cloudflare Workers AI or Groq if Gemini is busy. Each provider handles the text under its own terms. Some free AI plans allow the provider to use the text to improve its models, so do not paste details you would not share, such as ID numbers.

Job listings

Similar jobs come from job boards such as Adzuna, Jooble and Remotive. We send them a job title and location, never your CV.

What we never do

  • Sell your data or share it with employers or recruiters.
  • Add experience, skills or numbers that are not in your CV.

Your rights

You can see your history and saved CV in your account and delete any of it at any time. Delete my data removes your account, saved CV, history and cached results straight away. We keep payment records without your account, because tax law requires it.
